How to add a YouTube-video in your post?

YouTube is a very popular website which contains video content about all kinds of subjects. They allow their visitors to post video on their websites or message boards, and even give you the code to add it. Adding the video straight onto the website or message board allows people to stay in the same browser window and doesn't annoy them as having to open it in another browser or tab.

This topic will guide you through how to add the video on our board.

Step 1: Go to the YouTube website and browse for your video clip.

On the right side, next to the video clip you'll have a code 'Embed', which is the code we need.
> Select and copy this code.
> Then go to your topic reply.

Step 2: What to add in your post screen window.
In the post screen below you can see a text header, some text and below the embed code from the youtube video.

> Before posting your topic, select in the 'Post Options' menu (drop down list) and select the option 'HTML On - Auto Linebreak Mode'.
> Then submit your post.

Step 3: The result
The video clip will be displayed like the screen below.

Thanks a lot for this info. I am quite interested in posting videos by embedding them in this forum. I want to try my best to make this forum more interesting and attractive so that it gets more and more member.

Please let me know how to become a promoted member so that I might be able to paste videos from youtube and such sites.

Another thing: I think the guests should not be allowed to watch the videos..they should only be allowed to see the thumbnail so that they get interested to join this site to watch the video. Please think about this proposal.

Hi desi hoti and dude co0l,

I just want to inform you that I tried this morning to embed one of videos from metacafe and another from youtube in a new topic. But as Dude Co0l showed at this thread that there should appear some post options where I need to check the "HTML on...". I am sorry to say nothing is appearing in my case and I was unable to embed the video. Please check the matter and let me start a new topic in the video section.
